Lloyd Gosselink is pleased to announce the five distinguished law students selected to take part in our Summer 2024 Law Clerk Program!
This summer, we are excited to welcome law clerks Emily Balderson, Will Notelovitz, Joe O’Neil, Lisa Silveira, and Dingwu (Darren) Yang. Lloyd Gosselink takes pride in its long-standing and robust Law Clerk Program, and we look forward to continuing our tradition of providing outstanding law students with the opportunity to gain experience working with both principals and associates in all of the Firm’s diverse areas of practice.
- Emily Balderson is a rising third-year law student at The University of Texas School of Law. She is a staff editor for the Texas Environmental Law Journal and a member of the Texas Journal of Oil, Gas, and Energy Law Society and the Women’s Law Caucus. Emily has worked for the Defend Them All Foundation, the Mithoff Pro Bono Program, had a judicial internship with the 442nd District Court of Texas, and served as a research assistant for a professor of Constitutional Law. With a heart for community service, she enjoys singing and musical theater, traveling to Europe, and cooking new recipes with her husband.
- Will Notelovitz is a rising third year law student at Tulane University Law School. He is a student attorney on the First Amendment Clinic, a Senior Editor of the Journal of Law and Sexuality, VITA/TCE Tax preparation Program Coordinator, and a panel chair for the Environmental and Energy Law Summit. His previous work experience includes a judicial externship at the United States Fifth Circuit of Appeals and serving as a Campaign Director where he managed campaign offices across the country. Outside of work, you can find Will running the Greenbelt or playing volleyball at Zilker Park.
- Joe O’Neil is a rising third year law student at The University of Texas School of Law. He is a Mithoff pro bono scholar, a founding member of the Plaintiffs’ Advocacy & Litigation Society (PALS), and a participant in the Capital Punishment clinic. His work experience includes a 1L summer internship at the Colorado State Public Defender Office and volunteer work with Houston Volunteer Lawyers and the Pro Bono Asylum Representation Project in South Texas. Joe enjoys live music, any outdoor activity, and has a love for cowboy boots and hats.
- Lisa Silveira is a rising third-year law student at Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law. She is the recipient of the Vinson & Elkins Endowed Scholarship Fund and serves as a Notes Editor for the SMU Science and Technology Law Review Association. Lisa is the President of the Energy, Environment, and Natural Resources Law Society and the Association for Public Interest Law. She is the Merchandise and Marketing Chair for If/When/How and the Student Bar Association. Her work experience includes a legal externship at the TCEQ, a judicial internship for Judge Tanya Garrison, and previous clerkships at PowersTaylor LLP and Coné PLLC. Lisa’s interests include special event photography, graphic design, and volunteering for the SMU feral cat program.
- Dingwu (Darren) Yang is a rising second-year law student at The University of Texas School of Law. He participates in the Texas Transactional Skills Competition, is part of Texas APALSA, and is a Staff Editor for the American Journal of Criminal Law. Darren has worked as a Judicial Intern at the Travis County Civil Court of Law, a Legal Intern at AllBright Law Offices focusing on Business Law, Corporate Law, and Transactional Law, and was a staff intern at the Agricultural Bank of China. He enjoys photography, volleyball, and traditional Chinese cooking.
