Jeff is a principal in the Air and Waste Practice Group, the Water Practice Group, and the Compliance and Enforcement Practice Group. Jeff’s practice focuses on solid waste management permitting and enforcement; environmental due diligence in real estate transactions; site remediation (including use of the Texas Risk Reduction Program, “TRRP”) and spill reporting; air permitting and enforcement; and water rights and water quality permitting and enforcement. He also assists clients in conducting audits under the Texas Environmental, Health, and Safety Audit Privilege Act.

Jeff is actively involved in the Solid Waste Association of North America, where he serves on several committees and as a Board Member of the Texas Chapter. Jeff has also been actively involved in the Air and Waste Management Association, where he served in several leadership roles, including serving as chair of the Central Texas Chapter in 2013. He is also a frequent speaker and author on solid waste and air issues.

Prior to becoming a lawyer, Jeff worked as a civil engineer for almost a decade, and received his professional engineering license in 2000. He received his bachelor’s degree in civil engineering from the University of Texas in 1993 and his law degree from the Southern Methodist University Dedman School of Law in 2006. Jeff also served in the U.S. Army Infantry from 1985-1989.

As a young man, Jeff was privileged to serve in the U.S. Army, where he was promoted to sergeant (E-5) in less than four years. While stationed in Berlin, Germany, Jeff served in President Reagan’s honor guard when he gave his famous “take down this wall” speech. When Jeff isn’t working, he’s at home with his wife and two children, probably working in the yard.
